Originally launched in 1976, the SSL 4000 Series consoles revolutionised music production, becoming a new industry benchmark that would go on to shape music history. It all began with the rare SL 4000 B console, installed at London\u2019s Townhouse Studios. The 4000 B was used to create groundbreaking hits like Intruder by Peter Gabriel and the seminal gated-drum sensation In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins.\u00a0This set the tone for what would become the most influential mixing console of all time \u2014 the SL 4000 E.<\/p>\n

Introduced in 1979, the 4000 E became the heartbeat of legendary studios such as Abbey Road, Electric Lady, and The Hit Factory.
